Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a special 5K charity run event. The 5K Twilight Shift, now in its fourth year, will take place at Henstridge Airfield, offering participants the chance to run, jog, or walk the scenic route to support the life-saving efforts of the air ambulance service.
The inclusive event encourages individuals, families, and groups of all abilities to participate, with the main focus on enjoying the experience and raising funds for the air ambulance charity. As part of the anniversary celebrations, participants are encouraged to add a personal touch to the event, whether through fancy dress or by taking on additional challenges, such as carrying extra weight to simulate the equipment used by the air ambulance critical care teams.
Alana Hardy, fundraising events officer at Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance, expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming event, emphasizing its significance as an opportunity for people to come together and contribute to the noble cause. Registrations are limited to 500, and early sign-ups are encouraged. The first 100 adults to register will receive a complimentary t-shirt, and all participants are urged to aim for a minimum of £50 in sponsorship. Entry fees are £15 for adults and £10 for under-16s, with children requiring adult supervision.
