CCTV Appeal Launched After Car Stolen During Bridgwater Burglary

Police are seeking the public’s help to identify two suspects connected to a burglary in Bridgwater. The incident took place around 6:20 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, at a residence on Teasel Path. During the break-in, the perpetrators stole car keys and made off with a blue Skoda Octavia.

In addition to the vehicle theft, the suspects also took a purse containing cash, bank cards, and a driving license. Authorities believe the two individuals captured on CCTV footage may hold key information related to the case.

The suspects appear to be young men wearing black balaclavas and light-colored tracksuits, though no further descriptive details have been confirmed. Police have conducted CCTV reviews and carried out door-to-door inquiries, and are maintaining close contact with the victim.

PC Alice Rimes-Bowen, overseeing the investigation, urged the community to remain vigilant: “We are aware of reports circulating on social media about attempts to access other homes in the Wilstock area. We encourage anyone noticing suspicious activity to report it so we can assess the broader situation.”

She added, “Burglaries affect people deeply, not only financially and emotionally but psychologically. We appeal to witnesses, anyone with relevant information, or those with dashcam or doorbell footage near the time of the crime to come forward immediately.”
