Castle Cary Carnival 2025: Timings, Road Closures, and Parking Guide

Castle Cary is set to celebrate its long-standing tradition with the Carnival 2025 happening this Saturday, October 11. As one of the highlights on the Wessex carnival circuit, the event promises a spectacular illuminated procession attracting thousands of visitors to the town.

The Castle Cary Carnival dates back to 1919, originally organized to mark the return of soldiers from the First World War in 1920. This historic event continues to bring the community together, showcasing vibrant floats, carts, and festive cheer.

The carnival procession starts promptly at 7:00 pm. To ensure a smooth and safe experience, road closures will be enforced from 6:30 pm to 11:00 pm on the carnival route and surrounding approach roads. Additionally, roads where carts lineup will be closed earlier from 4:00 pm until 11:00 pm.
