Firefighters from Wincanton and Yeovil rushed to tackle a vehicle fire at West Camel, situated between Yeovil and Castle Cary, on Friday, July 11. The call came in at 2:35 pm, prompting an immediate response.
According to a Facebook update from Wincanton Fire Station, the thick column of smoke was visible from a considerable distance, signaling the severity of the blaze. Upon arrival, the Yeovil crew quickly began extinguishing the flames, while the Wincanton team prepared breathing apparatus and entered the scene with air support.
Despite facing the challenges posed by the scorching heat and strenuous conditions, both crews worked efficiently together to bring the fire under control swiftly.
