A car crashed into a house in Puriton, Somerset, prompting a swift rescue by firefighters. The Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received the incident report at 5:02 PM on Thursday, March 26. Upon arrival, crews from Taunton and Bridgwater discovered the driver still trapped inside the vehicle lodged against the domestic property.
Using specialized small tools, firefighters carefully extricated the driver from the wreckage before handing them over to waiting paramedics for medical attention. The operation involved three fire engines and a heavy rescue vehicle, highlighting the seriousness of the situation.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the details of the rescue, stating, “Three fire engines and a heavy rescue vehicle were dispatched to the scene following reports of a car crashing into a building in Puriton, Somerset. Our crews found a single vehicle had collided with a domestic property with the driver still inside. They successfully extricated the driver using small tools and transferred him to paramedics on site.”
