A devastating fire engulfed a campervan and an adjoining garage in Langport, Somerset, on Saturday, January 31, at approximately 3 pm. Firefighters from Martock and Somerton stations quickly responded to the emergency after the campervan ignited on the driveway of a residential property.
The intense flames rapidly spread to the nearby single-storey garage, causing extensive damage. Fire crews deployed four breathing apparatus sets, a hose reel jet, a main jet, two thermal imaging cameras, an electric saw, and drag forks to bring the fire under control effectively.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that the campervan was completely destroyed by the fire, while the garage suffered total destruction from flames and significant smoke damage, affecting roughly 60 percent of its structure.
