A year ago, Bath Rugby entered the new campaign as reigning Premiership, Premiership Cup and Challenge Cup champions, with high hopes and strong momentum.
However, the 2025/26 season brought disappointment, as Bath fell short in three semi-finals. Centre Cameron Redpath is now determined to push the team to improve and reclaim silverware in the forthcoming season.
“As a team, we’re working hard during pre-season. We know where we need to be and what we must do,” Redpath said ahead of the new campaign.

Bath will once again boast one of the strongest squads in the Premiership. For Redpath, securing a starting position is a key personal goal.
“Personally, I was probably a bit off where I wanted to be last year, which is why I didn’t earn any Scotland caps and spent some time on the bench at Bath towards the end of the season. Everyone wants to start,” he explained.
“Looking at the competition and the size of the squad, it’s always going to be tough. For me, I just need to pull my finger out and get back to my best.”
Reflecting on last season’s near misses, Redpath admitted there was room for improvement across the board. “I don’t think anyone performed as well as they should have last season,” he said.
“But we have to move on, focus on ourselves, and not dwell on the past too much.”
Bath’s ambitions extend beyond the Premiership alone. The club remains committed to chasing both the Champions Cup and the Premiership Cup.
“You’d be foolish not to push hard to win the Champions Cup,” Redpath stated. “The Premiership Cup is also important, especially since many young academy players get opportunities there. It’s a true squad effort.”
“Ultimately, winning the Premiership is our priority because if you don’t secure that, success in the other tournaments is unlikely.”
Bath will begin their season in the Premiership Cup on Sunday, 6 September, with an away match at Sale Sharks. This will be followed by two more pre-season friendlies away from the Rec, against Bedford Blues and Glasgow.
The league campaign kicks off on Friday, 25 September, at Harlequins. Bath return home to the Recreation Ground for a highly anticipated rematch against Exeter Chiefs-the team that shocked them in last year’s Premiership semi-final.
Redpath spoke about the excitement surrounding the first home league game. “You don’t focus on it too much beforehand, but playing at home is always special, especially with such a fantastic fan base in a great city,” he said.
“On the day and during the week leading up to it, there will be personal battles that contribute to the team’s performance. It’ll be a meaningful rematch.”
With a squad to match any in the league and a determined mindset from players like Redpath, Bath Rugby are well positioned to challenge for honours and bring silverware back to the city.
