Butlin’s Marks First Anniversary of SKYPARK with Unmatched Inclusive Playground Experience

Butlin’s Minehead celebrates the first anniversary of SKYPARK, a groundbreaking £2.5 million playground that has captivated more than 140,000 children of all abilities since its launch in July 2024. The expansive, inclusive space features six dynamic play zones designed to inspire joy and promote well-being through both energetic and calming activities.

Key attractions include a towering 10-metre climbing structure and the UK’s longest swing line, stretching an impressive 42 metres. The playground also prioritizes accessibility with wheelchair-friendly ramps, trampolines, and the serene Sound Domo, a unique retreat offering 18 soothing audio tracks to help children relax.

Day visitors have been drawn to the Somerset resort in record numbers, with more than 90,000 guests experiencing SKYPARK alongside other resort highlights. Admission to SKYPARK is included with all family breaks and day passes, currently available at discounted summer rates starting from £19 for adults and £12 for children.

Beyond SKYPARK, families can enjoy Splash Waterworld’s swimming sessions, traditional fairground rides, and the lively entertainment of the Skyline Pavilion. The summer lineup features acclaimed performers such as Peppa Pig and the Extreme Mountain Bike Show, as well as headline live acts including Stephen Mulhern, The Masked Singer Live, and Meet the Stars of Gladiators. Original productions like the pantomime “Snow White and Her Magnificent Friends” and the two-part musical “Iconic” enrich the family-friendly atmosphere.

Craig Goodwin, resort director at Butlin’s Minehead, shared his enthusiasm: “Celebrating one year of SKYPARK, we’ve added an extraordinary ‘wow factor’ to our resort that perfectly reflects our status as the Home of Entertainment. The overwhelmingly positive guest feedback and seeing families’ smiles have been truly rewarding.”

He emphasized the unique nature of SKYPARK: “There is no other playground like this — featuring a 10-metre climbing tower, the UK’s longest swing line, and fully inclusive wheelchair-accessible equipment, paired with exceptional entertainment offerings. It’s an experience like no other.”
