Butlin’s Launches Europe’s First Self-Serve Bars Across Three Resorts

Butlin’s has introduced innovative Self-Serve Bars at its three UK holiday resorts, becoming the first holiday park in Europe to incorporate Boxbar machines. Over 100 of these Self-Serve Bar units have been installed across various entertainment venues in Bognor Regis, Minehead and Skegness.

Launched just in time for the busy summer season, these new bars aim to speed up service for guests, dramatically reducing queuing times. Each Self-Serve Bar can pour a drink in as little as six seconds, providing a wide choice of more than 20 beverages, including draught beers, ciders, cocktails, spirits with mixers and soft drinks. Collectively, the bars have the capacity to dispense hundreds of drinks every minute across the three resorts.

The drinks menu features popular brands such as Madri, Guinness, Smirnoff, as well as Butlin’s own cocktail creation, Butlin’s On The Beach. The Self-Serve Bars are accessible to guests enjoying family breaks as well as those attending adult-only Big Weekenders. Guests with the All Inclusive Drinks package can also use the machines.

“Everything we do is about improving the guest experience and our new Boxbar Self-Serve Bars will make a real difference to guests on a family break or a Big Weekender,” said Heidi Watson, Head of Innovation at Butlin’s.

She added, “Open in time for the school summer holidays, the bars are designed to reduce wait times and make it quicker and easier for guests to get a drink. This means less time queuing and more time enjoying their holiday with family and friends.”
