Business is Booming at Bath’s New Celebrity-Favorite Juice Bar, But I Probably Won’t Be a Regular

After the closure of Leon on Stall Street late last year, Bath welcomed a new health-focused fast food contender: Joe & the Juice. Opening its doors just before Christmas, this stylish juice bar quickly captivated a loyal following, including endorsements from celebrities like Paris Hilton and Jay Shetty.

On a busy Tuesday lunchtime (January 14), the vibrant juice bar was buzzing with eager customers. The brand’s Instagram-friendly aesthetic—brightly colored smoothies and juices served in chic packaging—adds to its undeniable cool factor.

But how does Joe & the Juice truly fare? To evaluate, I considered three crucial factors for any meal: convenience, cost, and health.

Convenience is a clear strength. Despite a steady lunchtime crowd, service was swift and efficient, satisfying busy customers on the go. As for health, Joe & the Juice stands apart from traditional fast food. Smoothies like the “Big Brain Energy” pack nutrition with ingredients such as spinach, date puree, and Lion’s Mane mushrooms. Their whole wheat sandwiches, made with fresh produce, are a guilt-free option, leaving no greasy residue behind.

However, this health comes at a price. The “Big Brain Energy” smoothie, for instance, costs £10—a premium that reflects its high-quality ingredients like matcha and pea protein milk. Meanwhile, an avocado sandwich with vegan mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto sets you back £9.70. A light and nutritious meal here totals nearly £20, making it more of an occasional indulgence than an everyday choice.

I enjoyed my smoothie the most—its subtle flavor and refreshing quality perfectly evoked the arrival of spring. While tempting, though, Joe & the Juice doesn’t quite fit into my regular routine due to its lofty price point.

Joe & the Juice is open daily on Stall Street from 7 am to 9 pm, offering a convenient, tasty, and healthy option for those willing to treat themselves.
