Business Booms at Bath’s New Celebrity-Favorite Juice Bar – But I Probably Won’t Be a Regular

Last year saw the closure of Leon, a high-end, health-focused fast food spot on Stall Street in Bath, as the company announced plans to shutter 20 locations nationwide. But just before Christmas, Joe & the Juice opened in the same area, quickly becoming a buzzing hub for health enthusiasts and fans alike.

I visited Joe & the Juice on a busy Tuesday lunchtime (January 14) and instantly noticed the steady stream of customers eager to try the brightly colored juices and smoothies. This brand has cultivated an aura of cool, boosted by partnerships with celebrities such as Paris Hilton and Jay Shetty. Their vibrant, Instagram-ready drinks definitely catch the eye.

But does it live up to its reputation? To find out, I focused on three critical factors that matter most for a fast meal: convenience, cost, and health. While taste is subjective, these three criteria form what I consider the “Holy Trinity” of meal evaluation.

Convenience? Joe & the Juice nails it. Despite the lunchtime rush, customers were efficiently served—high marks for speed and service.

Health? This juice bar stands apart from typical fast food joints by offering genuinely nourishing options. Take their “Big Brain Energy” smoothie, featuring spinach, date puree, and Lion’s Mane mushrooms—a combination both wholesome and energizing. Their whole wheat sandwiches, loaded with fresh ingredients, also avoid the greasy aftermath common at less health-focused spots.

Cost? Here, Joe & the Juice shows its upscale side. That Big Brain Energy smoothie costs £10—a hefty price tag justified by premium ingredients like matcha and pea protein milk. My avocado sandwich with vegan mozzarella, tomatoes, and pesto came to £9.70. Together, my light, nutritious lunch tallied nearly £20.

So, would I become a Joevotee—a regular fan of this establishment? While I genuinely enjoyed my meal, the price point suggests Joe & the Juice is better suited as an occasional indulgence rather than a daily habit.

If you’re on Stall Street and craving a convenient, healthy treat with a splash of celebrity allure, Joe & the Juice might be your go-to. For me, it’s a special occasion stop—but definitely worth a visit.

Joe & the Juice is open seven days a week from 7am to 9pm.
