A collision involving a bus and a van resulted in the closure of the A38 Bridgwater Road near Bristol Airport. The incident, which occurred one mile from the airport, caused significant damage to the bus’s windscreen, leaving it shattered. The van involved in the crash also suffered a smashed windscreen, having seemingly veered off the road and collided with a wheelie bin.
The collision, reported at 5.30pm on April 16, led to the road being closed in both directions for approximately two hours, resulting in heavy traffic in the area. Despite the disruption, no serious injuries were reported, and emergency services quickly attended the scene.
Bristol Airport issued a notice to travelers, advising them to seek alternative routes and allow extra travel time due to the road closure. By 7.30pm that evening, the road had reopened, and the incident had been cleared.
