The vibrant tradition of carnival season continues in Somerset with Burnham-on-Sea’s much-anticipated event on Monday, November 3, 2025. Following Bridgwater Carnival’s recent festivities, Burnham-on-Sea will light up its streets once again with dazzling carnival carts and spectacular procession viewed by thousands every year.
The procession will commence at 7:30 pm, starting from the traffic lights on Love Lane near the Tesco roundabout, winding through the town before concluding opposite the Burnham Holiday Village on Marine Drive. Spectators can expect a colorful, lively parade alongside illuminated floats and creative displays.
The procession route remains unchanged for 2025. From the start at Love Lane, the parade will move along Manor Road, turn left into Victoria Street, proceed right onto the High Street—where the initial section is designated as a No Spectator Zone—then continue through Old Station Approach before reaching its end point on Marine Drive, near the Haven Holiday Village entrance.

Organizers advise attendees to arrive early due to widespread road closures beginning at 6:30 pm. Preferred parking options include Oxford Street Car Park and Pier Street Car Park, with various side streets also offering spaces.
Parking for carnival carts is designated in Queens Drive—from Tesco roundabout to Stodden’s Lane—and Frank Foley Parkway—from Ben Travers Way (North) to Ben Travers Way (South). These areas will be closed from 9:00 pm on Saturday, November 1, through to 1:00 am on Tuesday, November 4.
On carnival night, key roads along the procession route—including Love Lane, Manor Road, Victoria Street, High Street, and Marine Drive—will close around 5:00 pm for spectator safety and remain closed until at least 1:00 am Tuesday, if required. Burnham Road will have a contingency closure from 8:00 pm, typically enforced as the procession reaches Marine Drive, reopening shortly after the last float passes, expected before midnight.
Residents have been kept informed via official correspondence regarding these closures and temporary parking restrictions. Parking suspensions and temporary clearways will be clearly marked and enforced from the morning of Saturday, November 1, through the early hours of Tuesday, November 4, to ensure a safe and smooth carnival experience.
The Burnham-on-Sea Carnival honors an enduring legacy linked to the historic Guy Fawkes night on November 5, though the event itself takes place earlier in the week. It remains one of Somerset’s signature autumn events, offering fun and vibrant community celebration for all ages.
Be sure to plan your trip accordingly and soak up the magic of Burnham-on-Sea’s carnival spectacle in 2025.
