In the early hours of Saturday, 27 September, two men broke into The Crossing Café on Preston Road in Yeovil, making off with electronic devices, cash, and several bottles of milkshake. A nearby resident, disturbed by the noise, promptly alerted the police.
Witnesses described the suspects as wearing dark clothing. One reportedly sported trainers with white soles, while the other wore trainers featuring three stripes. After the break-in, the two men split up and fled in different directions.
Police conducted extensive inquiries, including reviewing CCTV footage and going door-to-door in the surrounding area, particularly focusing on Larkhill Road and Preston Road. Officers are urging anyone with relevant footage or information to come forward.

PC Katarzyna Myk, leading the investigation, stated, “We believe this was an opportunistic burglary rather than part of a larger targeted campaign. There is no indication of a broader threat to the community. Nonetheless, we are treating this incident seriously and continue efforts to identify those responsible.”
Avon and Somerset Police emphasized the importance of public assistance in solving the case. Crime scene investigators have thoroughly examined the scene, and patrols in the area have been increased as inquiries proceed.
