Burglars Smash into Somerset Store in Nighttime Heist

Early morning on Saturday 22 March, a group of four individuals committed a high-value burglary by using a car to break into The Gorge Outdoors store in The Cliffs, Cheddar. Subsequently, they stole a significant number of items before making their escape.

The car utilized in the criminal act is believed to be a silver saloon or estate model, possibly resembling a Ford Mondeo.

Authorities are calling upon the community to report any substantial quantity of outdoor clothing being sold through digital marketplaces. Moreover, they have publicized CCTV images of a man they aim to recognize in connection with the incident.

Members of the public who witnessed any suspicious behavior in the vicinity or possess pertinent information have been urged to come forward. Those capable of aiding the police in their inquiry are requested to contact 101, citing the reference number 5225083490.

The Avon and Somerset Police stated, “We’re releasing CCTV images of an individual we are seeking to identify in connection with a significant burglary at a Cheddar store. At approximately 2:10 am on Saturday 22 March, a vehicle was utilized to break into The Gorge Outdoors store in The Cliffs. Four perpetrators were involved, and it is suspected that a silver saloon or estate type vehicle, possibly a Ford Mondeo or similar, was used. We ask for the public’s cooperation in identifying the man in these images. We also urge individuals who may have seen a suspicious vehicle in the area during that time or have knowledge of new outdoor clothing being sold in large quantities on online marketplaces to come forward with any information which may be of assistance.
