Bridgwater Teen Secures Permanent Role at Avalon Nursing Home After Outstanding Placement

Seventeen-year-old Olive Trowsdale has transformed her college placement at Avalon Nursing Home in Bridgwater into a permanent role, impressing both staff and residents with her commitment and compassion.

A student of Health and Social Care at Bridgwater and Taunton College, Olive’s dedication went well beyond the requirements of her placement. She frequently volunteered outside of official hours to assist with trips, events, and school visits, quickly becoming an indispensable part of the team.

Lisa Priddice, Avalon’s activities coordinator, praised Olive’s exceptional qualities: “Olive first joined us over a year ago as a placement student, eager to gain hands-on experience in the healthcare sector. Throughout her time here, she has proven herself to be caring, compassionate, and hardworking, combining youthful enthusiasm with maturity and a strong work ethic.”
