Bridgwater School Unveils Eco-Friendly IT Hub to Empower Digital Learning

Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater has officially opened a state-of-the-art IT suite that blends innovative technology with an eco-conscious design to create a dynamic learning environment. Featuring 60 high-spec computers, advanced monitors, and sustainably sourced furniture, this dual-classroom facility is set to revolutionize digital education at the Somerset secondary school.

Headteacher Emma Deady shared her excitement: “Our students are delighted with the new IT suite and the powerful computers. The double-classroom format supports interactive, large-scale lessons, allowing us to deliver a truly modern curriculum. This bright, environmentally friendly space embodies everything a 21st-century school should offer.”

The suite launched earlier this month and will serve hundreds of pupils every week. It is tailored to support diverse subjects such as artificial intelligence, coding, digital design, media production, and collaborative projects—ensuring students gain the skills needed for tomorrow’s world.

Funding came through Futura Learning Partnership, the academy trust overseeing Chilton Trinity, with its commercial trading arm reinvesting profits into enhancing school facilities. Tim Howes, Futura’s COO, remarked, “Opening this IT suite exemplifies how we channel resources back to our schools to keep them on the cutting edge of educational innovation.”

In line with Chilton Trinity’s commitment to sustainability, the project incorporated reused desks and energy-efficient technologies, significantly reducing the school’s carbon footprint while providing a modern space for learning and growth.
