Bridgwater School Unveils Eco-Friendly IT Hub to Empower Digital Learning

Chilton Trinity School in Bridgwater has launched a state-of-the-art IT hub designed to blend cutting-edge technology with environmental sustainability, creating an inspiring space for modern education.

The newly unveiled dual-classroom suite boasts 60 new computers equipped with high-spec monitors and ergonomically designed, eco-conscious furniture. This setup supports interactive, large-group lessons across a variety of digital disciplines, including artificial intelligence, coding, digital design, and media production.

Headteacher Emma Deady expressed enthusiasm about the project: “Our students are thrilled with their new IT suite. The bright, spacious environment with advanced technology perfectly embodies the spirit of a 21st-century learning space. It’s not just a classroom—it’s a place where future skills come to life.”

Officially opened earlier this month, the suite serves hundreds of pupils weekly and aligns with Chilton Trinity’s commitment to delivering a future-ready curriculum. The facility encourages collaboration and creativity, emphasizing both technological proficiency and sustainability.

Funded by the Futura Learning Partnership’s commercial trading arm, the refurbishment demonstrates the trust’s dedication to reinvesting profits into schools for improved learning experiences. Tim Howes, Chief Operating Officer at Futura Learning Partnership, said, “This IT suite showcases how we channel resources into meaningful projects that enhance student learning and keep our schools at the cutting edge of innovation.”

Sustainability was a core focus of the project, with the reuse of secondhand desks and the integration of energy-efficient systems significantly reducing the school’s carbon footprint. Chilton Trinity continues to lead by example in combining educational excellence with environmental responsibility.
