Bridgwater Pub Attack Leaves Man Seriously Injured as Police Make Arrest

A violent incident at a pub in Bridgwater, Somerset, left a man in his twenties seriously injured late on Friday, December 12. Avon and Somerset Police reported that the attack happened around 11:55 p.m. on High Street, resulting in the victim sustaining a deep laceration to his ear, requiring medical treatment.

Authorities have conducted initial inquiries and are now appealing for witnesses who were present at the pub during the time of the assault to come forward. Police have described the suspect as a white man with dark hair and short facial hair, dressed in a black hooded top, black jogging bottoms, and black footwear.

A 32-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault by beating and assault causing grievous bodily harm. He has been released on bail and is due to return on Monday, January 5, while investigations continue.
