Bridgwater Carnival 2025 Daytime Events Programme Announced

The complete daytime schedule for the renowned Bridgwater Guy Fawkes Carnival 2025 has been unveiled, promising a fun-filled day leading up to the spectacular illuminated procession.

Known as the oldest carnival in the UK since its inception in 1881, and the largest illuminated parade in Europe, Bridgwater Carnival attracts tens of thousands each year. On Saturday, November 1, 2025, festivities kick off at 10:30 AM in the town centre with a diverse lineup of street entertainment spanning until 5:30 PM.

The evening’s grand procession will begin at 6:00 PM, featuring brilliantly lit carts parading through the streets. Immediately following the parade, a unique simultaneous squibbing display—a traditional fireworks event with around 200 squibbers—will light up Bridgwater’s High Street.

Highlights of the daytime events include performances from local dance schools such as the Fox King Dance Academy, music from groups like the Bridgwater Rock Choir and Wells City Band, and interactive acts including the Farmyard Circus and Marvellous Magical Theatre. Various stages are set up throughout the town, notably the High Street Performance Area, St Mary’s Church, Cornhill Stage, and Angel Place Shopping Centre, each hosting an array of artists and performers throughout the day.

Families can enjoy children’s fairground rides and street entertainers like stilt walkers from Higher Beings. The entire town centre will buzz with live music, dance, and theatrical presentations, creating an immersive festival atmosphere from morning until night.

This vibrant daytime programme ensures that Bridgwater Carnival 2025 is not just an evening event but a full-day celebration of community spirit, culture, and entertainment.
