Simone Ashley, best known for her role in the hit Netflix series Bridgerton, has spoken candidly about her experience filming intimate scenes on the show. The Sex Education actress, who is also preparing to release her debut music album, described the Regency-era drama as a “fantasy” that explores the power of love.
In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Ashley shared, “Bridgerton represents nudity with a sense of romance, and I felt very safe and comfortable in what I was choosing to show to the world.” Her comments reflect the supportive environment behind the scenes that allowed her to approach challenging scenes with confidence.
Looking ahead, the highly anticipated fourth season of Bridgerton is set to premiere next year. Ashley noted, “‘That show just gets bigger and bigger. Everyone has gone off to do incredible things, but we come back and it’s like time hasn’t moved.”

She also touched on her personal journey, revealing she moved to Los Angeles alone at the age of 18. “I was really scrappy,” she said. “Since I was little, if I wanted something, I would do anything I could to get it. So, I took some modelling jobs to pay the bills and got into acting through that.”
Ashley’s upcoming album is a deeply personal project, inspired by a recent breakup. “It’s going to be somewhat confessional… beautiful and messy,” she shared. “Good songs don’t come from times when my life is regimented and predictable. They come when I am feeling vitality, and usually you either feel that way when your heart’s broken, or you’re euphoric. This work has been an amazing channel to put all those feelings into.”
