Brean Theme Park Announces Reopening and Plans for Future Revitalization

Brean Theme Park, a beloved Somerset attraction, is set to reopen for the Easter holidays after a temporary closure stirred concerns about its future. The park entered liquidation in February, leading to a brief shutdown due to the operator’s failure to meet essential obligations.

Unity Holidays, the company managing the broader Brean Leisure Park resort, confirmed that the park will welcome visitors starting Friday, April 3, and remain open throughout the school holidays. This decision follows ongoing efforts to secure a sustainable future for the famed park, considered a cornerstone of the local visitor economy.

Mark Seaton, CEO of Unity Holidays, expressed the significance of the park to the community and holidaymakers alike. He acknowledged the difficult choice to close the park temporarily but emphasized the commitment to ensuring it remains a hub of affordable family entertainment.

Negotiations are underway to finalize a new agreement by the end of May, focusing on substantial reinvestment and improvements. Plans include revitalizing the park’s appearance, introducing new rides, and enhancing food options to enrich the visitor experience.

The park’s current attractions feature a rollercoaster, go-karts, dodgems, a ferris wheel, and a haunted house, all cherished by locals and tourists. The anticipated updates aim to reaffirm Brean Theme Park’s status as a treasured destination for families across Somerset and beyond.
