Brean Theme Park Announces Reopening and Plans for Future Revitalization

Brean Theme Park, a beloved fixture in Somerset, is set to reopen this Easter following a temporary closure that sparked concerns about its future. The theme park, which entered liquidation in February, will resume operations starting Friday, April 3, and remain open throughout the school holidays.

The temporary shutdown occurred after the park’s operator failed repeatedly to meet key obligations, prompting Unity Holidays—the managers of the broader Brean Leisure Park resort—to intervene. Unity Holidays has now confirmed that efforts are underway to secure the park’s long-term viability, reassuring fans and the local community alike.

In a recent statement, a Unity Holidays spokesperson emphasized their commitment to revitalizing one of Somerset’s most treasured visitor attractions. Negotiations are ongoing to finalize a new agreement by the end of May, which aims to guarantee the park’s future success. This plan includes potential enhancements such as new rides, upgraded food options, and a comprehensive refresh of the park’s appearance.

Mark Seaton, CEO of Unity Holidays, highlighted the importance of the park to the local economy and community: “Brean Theme Park holds a special place for families, holidaymakers, and businesses along Somerset’s west coast. Although we faced difficult decisions to temporarily close the park due to operator shortcomings, we’re pleased to welcome visitors back and are close to securing a new agreement that will deliver significant reinvestment and ensure the park remains a cornerstone of local tourism.”

The theme park currently features popular attractions including a rollercoaster, go-karts, dodgems, a ferris wheel, and a haunted house, all set to delight visitors once again with renewed energy and improvements on the horizon.
