Brean Theme Park, a cherished landmark in Somerset, will reopen its gates this Easter following a temporary closure that sparked concerns about its future. The park, which entered liquidation in February, will be welcoming visitors again during the busy school holidays, offering much-needed relief to local tourism and families alike.
Unity Holidays, the organization responsible for managing the wider Brean Leisure Park resort, explained that the theme park was temporarily closed due to the previous operator’s failure to meet crucial obligations. However, they have now granted permission for the park to resume operations as of Friday, April 3.
In a recent update, a spokesperson from Unity Holidays affirmed their ongoing efforts to secure the theme park’s long-term future—a commitment to one of Somerset’s most beloved visitor destinations. Work is underway to finalize a new agreement expected by the end of May, focusing on revitalising the park and ensuring it remains an integral part of the local community.

There are exciting plans on the horizon that may include the introduction of new rides, enhanced food options, and a comprehensive facelift to modernize the park’s appearance. Mark Seaton, CEO of Unity Holidays, emphasized the importance of the park to the regional economy and community, stating, “Brean Theme Park holds a special place in the hearts of locals and visitors alike. Although we had to make the tough call for a temporary closure due to operator shortcomings, reopening now preserves the wonderful family entertainment it provides.”
Seaton also highlighted the forthcoming agreement, which promises significant reinvestment and signals positive news not only for holidaymakers and caravan owners but also for businesses dependent on the area’s vibrant tourism sector.
Currently, the park boasts a variety of attractions including a rollercoaster, go-karts, dodgems, a Ferris wheel, and a haunted house, all ready to delight visitors once again.
