Brean Leisure Park Reassures Visitors Amid Brean Theme Park Liquidation

The owners of Brean Leisure Park, a major holiday destination in Somerset, have issued a statement to reassure visitors that their facilities will open as planned this spring, despite the recent liquidation of the neighboring Brean Theme Park.

Brean Theme Park’s entry into liquidation last week raised concerns about its potential closure, as the park progresses through the winding-up process, casting doubt over its scheduled reopening for the 2026 season on March 14.

Unity Holidays, the parent company behind Brean Leisure Park, emphasized that although Brean Theme Park leases land from them, it operates as an entirely separate business and is not owned by Unity Holidays. Therefore, the status of Brean Theme Park does not impact Brean Leisure Park or its other attractions.

A spokesperson from Unity Holidays stated, “We are sorry and surprised by the news regarding Brean Theme Park but want to reassure our guests that Unity Beach, Brean Splash, Brean Play, and Brean Gym remain unaffected. These venues will reopen as planned for the 2026 season.”

Brean Leisure Park continues to invest in enhancements and improvements across its attractions. Notably, the Brean Splash waterpark is undergoing a £10.2 million upgrade, featuring a new outdoor pool, a lido-style area, a lazy river, and improved changing facilities—all scheduled for completion ahead of the next season.

While the news of the theme park’s liquidation has unsettled many loyal visitors, some attribute recent declines in Brean’s visitor numbers to other factors, such as the transformation of the nearby Pontins Brean Sands holiday camp into residential accommodation for workers at the Hinkley Point nuclear power station.

Despite these challenges, Unity Holidays remains committed to maintaining and improving the holiday experience at Brean Leisure Park, welcoming guests for the new season with confidence and optimism.
