The owners of Brean Leisure Park, one of Somerset’s largest seaside holiday destinations, have issued a reassuring statement following the liquidation of the nearby Brean Theme Park. Despite the theme park entering the ‘Resolutions for Winding Up’ stage last week, the Leisure Park’s management confirmed their attractions remain open and fully operational for the upcoming 2026 season.
Brean Theme Park, scheduled to reopen on March 14, 2026, is facing an uncertain future after appointing liquidators—a move that often signals a business closure unless a swift buyer is found. While Brean Theme Park leases land from Unity Holidays, the parent company of Brean Leisure Park, both operate as entirely separate entities. Unity Holidays emphasized that the liquidation of the theme park does not impact its own attractions.
In a statement posted on Brean Leisure Park’s social media channels, Unity Holidays expressed surprise and regret over the theme park’s situation but reassured the public: “Brean Theme Park is not owned by us and its liquidation has no effect on Unity Beach, Brean Splash, Brean Play, and Brean Gym. All are set to reopen with exciting improvements for the 2026 season.”

Brean Leisure Park offers a range of attractions including Unity Gym, Brean Golf Course, Unity Splash Waterpark, and Unity Play soft play area, all complementing the Unity Beach holiday park. The splash park recently closed temporarily to undergo a £10.2 million refurbishment, which includes new outdoor pools, a lido-style section, a lazy river, and upgraded changing facilities, all scheduled to welcome guests next season.
Local visitors have expressed concerns that the closure of Brean Theme Park could affect the town’s appeal, with some linking recent declines in visitor numbers to broader changes in the area—most notably the transformation of the former Pontins Brean Sands holiday camp into housing for workers at the nearby Hinkley Point nuclear power station.
Despite these challenges, Unity Holidays remains committed to investing in and enhancing the holiday experience at Brean Leisure Park, ensuring visitors continue to enjoy a vibrant seaside destination in 2026 and beyond.
