Bradford-on-Avon Gymnast Katrin Hesse Shortlisted for Top British Gymnastics Award

Katrin Hesse, a promising young gymnast from Bradford-on-Avon and a member of King Edmund Acro Gym, has been named a finalist in the Young Person of the Year category at the prestigious 2026 British Gymnastics Awards. Sponsored by Milano, this award celebrates inspiring individuals in the British Gymnastics community who demonstrate passion, dedication, and leadership.

The Young Person of the Year category recognizes those who exemplify British Gymnastics' core values—inclusivity, support, and aspiration—whether they are gymnasts, coaches, volunteers, or contributors in other roles. Katrin has stood out as a junior coach and role model, positively influencing others and promoting the sport’s values.

The British Gymnastics Awards honor exceptional people and clubs that keep gymnastics safe, enjoyable, and accessible. They highlight those who make significant contributions to individuals, communities, and society through their commitment to developing and inspiring the sport.

Reflecting on her nomination, Katrin said, “Being a finalist is an incredible honor. This year’s awards also include special recognition for efforts by the British Gymnastics Foundation to transform lives through gymnastics.
