The body of a man was found washed up on Burnham-on-Sea beach in Somerset on the evening of Sunday, April 19. The discovery was made by members of the public at approximately 7:30 pm.
Emergency services, including Avon and Somerset Police, the South Western Ambulance Service, and HM Coastguard, promptly responded to the scene. According to a police spokesperson, the man is believed to have been in the water for less than a month before washing ashore.
Currently, the death is being treated as unexplained. No identification has been found on the deceased, and police are conducting ongoing enquiries to establish the man’s identity. A postmortem examination is scheduled to provide more insight into the circumstances of his death.
