The search for a missing man in Somerset ended tragically with the discovery of a body in the Wincanton area. Avon and Somerset Police found the body of a man on Sunday, May 10, during an ongoing investigation into the disappearance of 57-year-old Talmadge.
While formal identification is still pending, police have informed Talmadge’s family of the discovery. Authorities have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
According to an Avon and Somerset Police spokesperson, “Officers searching for missing Talmadge located a body in the Wincanton area yesterday (Sunday 10 May). Formal identification has not yet taken place, but his family has been informed. His death is not being treated as suspicious.”

The search had intensified over the weekend following a public appeal. Talmadge was last seen in Wincanton at approximately 6 a.m. on Thursday, May 7. He was known to have ties to the local community, including frequent visits to religious sites and connections to Wells, Taunton, and Castle Cary.
