Yeovil Town manager Billy Rowley expressed his frustration following a 3-0 defeat at the hands of Carlisle United at Brunton Park. The Glovers found themselves trailing early after conceding three first-half goals, a setback Rowley described as “so frustrating” and a “dagger” to their hopes.
Carlisle struck quickly, with Morgan Feeney heading them ahead within the first five minutes. Luke Armstrong extended the lead with a composed finish from the penalty spot, and Ryan Galvin wrapped up the first half scoring in stoppage time to leave Yeovil staring at a tough uphill battle.
Despite the scoreline, Rowley felt his side created decent periods in the match. “I thought it was dead even in terms of chances,” he reflected. However, Yeovil struggled to convert their opportunities, succumbing to nerves in the attacking third. “We tend to tense up and miss the right passes when we get near their box,” Rowley lamented.

At half-time, the manager urged his team to increase their intensity and press more aggressively. He highlighted the commendable effort of players like Luke McCormick and Tahvon Campbell but noted the challenges they faced defending against Carlisle’s four-man front.
Rowley also pointed to the difficulties caused by a stretched squad. With limited options on the bench, due to injuries and absences, the Glovers are struggling to maintain depth and consistency.
Looking ahead, Rowley emphasized the importance of unity and responsibility as Yeovil prepare for a vital home clash against Sutton United. “No blame, just ownership,” he insisted. “Everyone, no matter their age or experience, must ‘man up’ and focus on mastering the small fundamental aspects of the game that make a difference.”
