‘Best performance yet’ - Bath Rugby player ratings from dominant Harlequins victory

Bath Rugby delivered an outstanding performance at the sold-out Recreation Ground, overwhelming Harlequins 48-15 with eight tries and momentarily closing the gap on top-of-the-table Northampton.

Santi Carreras set the tone early with a sensational interception try, racing from just outside his own 22 to the try line with no challengers in sight. Despite Harlequins’ Bryn Bradley scoring shortly after, a missed Marcus Smith conversion helped Bath maintain control.

Tom Carr-Smith extended Bath’s advantage following a clever offload from Ollie Lawrence, while Carreras scored again just before halftime, capitalizing on a slick Finn Russell pass to assert Bath’s dominance.

Early in the second half, Tom Dunn secured the crucial bonus point from a driving maul. Harlequins responded with a try from Kieran Treadwell after intercepting a pass, cutting the deficit briefly.

But Bath’s relentless attack continued: Ewan Richards scored a well-executed try following Alfie Barbeary’s playmaking, and Josh Bayliss powered through defenders on a near half-pitch run to the try line. Guy Pepper added another after a pinpoint long pass from Ollie Lawrence, marking Bath’s 150th try across all competitions this season. The final try came from Bernard van der Linde, who squeezed through a gap in the defense just before full time.
