The family of Andrew Carter, a cherished brother and avid cyclist from Burnham-on-Sea, have shared their profound grief following his passing weeks after a serious road collision.
On Friday, January 2, around 2:45 PM, Andrew, aged 69, was cycling along the A38 Bristol Road in Highbridge when he was involved in a collision with a red Ford Fiesta. Despite immediate medical attention, Andrew was admitted to hospital nearly two weeks later. Tragically, he passed away on Sunday, January 18.
In a heartfelt tribute, his family described Andrew as deeply beloved and emphasized the irreplaceable void his loss has left. “We were incredibly close, and Andrew was dearly loved,” they said. “He loved cycling daily, enjoyed outdoor life, and cherished his walks with his dog—simple joys that defined him. His absence leaves a space that can never be filled, and he will be missed far more than words can ever express. We will carry his memory with us always.”
