Families across Somerset have a fantastic chance to be featured in the new series of BBC One’s well-loved daytime programme, The Travelling Auctioneers. Since its launch in 2022, the show has captivated viewers by exploring the rich stories behind family heirlooms and treasured possessions.
Applications for the upcoming series are now open, with production planned to continue throughout the summer until October. The series seeks households from across the UK interested in uncovering the histories behind their belongings.
Participants will have their cherished items, ranging from family heirlooms to unique collections, professionally assessed, restored, and potentially auctioned. They will benefit from the expertise of some of Britain’s leading auctioneers and specialist restorers, who will help reveal the heritage, craftsmanship, and possible value of objects that have often been tucked away for years.

Each episode will celebrate not only the possessions themselves but also the people behind them, as they share memories, family histories, and personal stories connected to each item, according to Wales Online.
The forthcoming series will feature auctioneers Bee Harford, Izzie Balmer, and JB Broad, alongside specialist restorers JJ Chalmers, Lauren Wood, and Robin Johnson.

The BBC production team is particularly interested in hearing from individuals who are relocating or downsizing, sorting through inherited possessions, or managing growing collections. They also welcome applications from those curious about unusual antiques or collectables, wishing to restore prized items before an auction, or embarking on a fresh chapter in life and seeking a new beginning.
