Families across Somerset and beyond have a unique chance to feature in the forthcoming series of BBC One’s beloved daytime programme, The Travelling Auctioneers.
Since its debut in 2022, the show has captivated viewers by uncovering the fascinating stories behind family heirlooms, treasured collections and long-forgotten objects. Applications are now open for the next series, with production scheduled to run throughout the summer and into October.
The programme searches for households nationwide willing to reveal the hidden histories within their homes. Successful participants will receive expert assistance from some of Britain’s most renowned auctioneers and specialist restorers, who will explore the heritage, craftsmanship and potential value of items often stored away for years.

Each episode highlights not just the objects themselves, but also the personal stories and family memories connected to them. Viewers can expect to meet individuals sharing tales of their ancestors and the significance of their possessions, as reported by Wales Online.
This series will feature auctioneers such as Bee Harford, Izzie Balmer, and JB Broad, alongside specialist restorers JJ Chalmers, Lauren Wood and Robin Johnson.

The production team is especially keen to hear from those who are relocating or downsizing, working through inherited possessions, or managing expanding collections. They also welcome applications from individuals with an interest in unusual antiques or collectibles, those wishing to restore cherished items before auctioning them, and those embarking on a fresh life chapter seeking a new beginning.
