Bath’s Reform UK Chair Addresses Photos of Himself in SS Uniform

Tim Nott, chair of the Bath branch of Reform UK, has spoken out regarding photos circulating online that show him dressed in the uniform of the Waffen-SS, the combat branch of the Nazi Party’s paramilitary forces.

While Mr. Nott, a British Army veteran, shared a photo of himself wearing a World War II American military uniform, the majority of images publicly available on his Facebook profile depict him in German military attire, including the notorious SS uniform adorned with the “totenkopf” (death’s head) skull insignia.

Explaining the photos, Mr. Nott said his interest lies in military reenactments and acting roles connected to historical films and documentaries. He stated: “After my 10-year career in the British Army, I found myself working every weekend. Being then unable to do the Territorial Army, I got into acting.”

He added that he has portrayed many different military roles, not only German units, citing work on productions such as Fury and Saving Private Ryan. Mr. Nott is currently involved in filming a documentary in Kent, portraying an American captain in Allied uniform.

His social media presence under the name Leemans Hecker features multiple photos showcasing him in Waffen-SS uniform, which were brought to public attention via an X (formerly Twitter) user earlier this month.

The Waffen-SS, led by Heinrich Himmler, was responsible for numerous war crimes and atrocities during World War II, including participation in the Holocaust and operation of concentration camps. The SS also served as Hitler’s personal bodyguard and enforced Nazi policies.

Reform UK received eight percent of the vote in Bath during the 2024 general election, placing fifth. The party currently holds no seats on Bath and North East Somerset Council and did not stand in the 2023 local elections. In recent by-elections, Reform UK has finished fourth twice and second once. The next full council election is scheduled for next year.
