The Lamb and Lion, a cherished pub nestled in central Bath, has officially reopened this month following an impressive six-figure renovation. The extensive facelift includes a full interior refurbishment, the installation of four state-of-the-art HD screens, increased capacity by 46 seats, and the addition of private bookable booths equipped with their own screens, promising an enhanced viewing experience for sports enthusiasts.
Equipped with four Sky Q boxes, The Lamb and Lion is set to broadcast all the major sporting events, including Sky Sports, TNT Sports, and Premier Sports channels. This upgrade has not only elevated the entertainment options but also led to the creation of three new jobs, underlining the pub’s commitment to the local community.
Jonathan Langan, General Manager of The Lamb and Lion, expressed his excitement: “We’re thrilled to welcome our guests back after the brief closure. While we’ve retained the unique charm our patrons love, we’ve made thoughtful improvements to elevate the overall experience. Bath loves The Lamb and Lion, and we’re confident our guests will appreciate the transformation.”

To celebrate their reopening, the pub will host a lively ‘Minute to Win It’ competition on Saturday, November 15, coinciding with the England vs New Zealand rugby match. Participants pay £5 to select two minutes during which they predict a try or conversion will be scored. Winners receive an official England rugby shirt, while those who don’t win get a free printed keepsake.
Throughout December, The Lamb and Lion will hold shirt raffles featuring popular teams such as Bath Rugby, Liverpool, Manchester United, and Arsenal. All proceeds will be donated to the Royal United Hospital in Bath, supporting the local healthcare community.
Additionally, the pub offers a variety of weekly events: Monday Bingo Night, Tuesday Games Night, and midweek student socials on Wednesday and Thursday with exclusive discounts unlocked via the MiXR app. ‘Funky Fridays’ bring a nostalgic twist with a curated menu of nineties and noughties-inspired cocktails. Weekends feature continuous sports coverage, with Sunday roast dinners completing the classic pub charm.
