The renowned Michelin Guide has welcomed 16 new restaurants to its distinguished list, including Emberwood in the historic city of Bath. Known for showcasing the finest dining establishments across the UK, the guide adds new entries monthly to highlight culinary excellence.
Situated on the ground floor of the Francis Hotel, Emberwood is described by Michelin as a “luxurious brasserie that stylishly blends elegant mouldings and traditional features with a modern open kitchen and counter seating.” The kitchen focuses on seasonal ingredients, sourcing fresh catch from St Mawes market and incorporating enticing Mediterranean flavors. Signature dishes like red mullet accompanied by a vibrant crab risotto exemplify the kitchen’s expertise, while desserts range from a curated menu to classic offerings from a tempting cake trolley.
Also featured in August’s additions is Ragu, located in Bristol’s vibrant Wapping Wharf. Opened in April, this authentic Italian eatery has quickly gained national acclaim. Renowned critics like Guardian’s Grace Dent and Tom Parker Bowles have praised it highly. Michelin notes that Ragu occupies a reclaimed shipping container, offering a compact and stylish venue. Its menu is designed for sharing, showcasing simply prepared dishes made with well-sourced seasonal ingredients. Highlights include garlic and rosemary focaccia and an inventive tiramisu, making Ragu a highly recommended destination for food lovers.
