Bath’s Autumn and Winter Events Promise Even Bigger Festivities After a Spectacular Summer

Bath has just wrapped up a sensational summer packed with music, sports, and vibrant community events that attracted over 190,000 visitors across 25 unforgettable occasions. Highlights included Robbie Williams’ iconic concerts at the Royal Crescent, the lively Keynsham Music Festival, and a jubilant Bath Rugby victory parade.

As the summer sun sets, Bath is gearing up to deliver an even more compelling autumn and winter calendar. Among the season’s standout events is the 250th anniversary celebration of the Jane Austen Festival in September, spotlighted by a charming Regency-style wedding ceremony for the winners of a council-organized competition.

Following that, the Bath Autumn Fayre, scheduled from October 3 to 5, offers a delightful weekend of street food and live entertainment that promises to please all ages. Later in October, the festive atmosphere intensifies with the return of Bath Oktoberfest at Royal Victoria Park from October 24 to 26, where visitors can enjoy lively Oompah bands, karaoke sessions, and even try their hand at axe-throwing.

November brings enchanting evenings with the Midsomer Norton Illuminated Carnival on the 10th, featuring a spectacular procession of carts adorned with dazzling lights stretching 30 meters in length. Then, the much-anticipated Bath Christmas Market will celebrate its 25th anniversary from November 27 to December 14. This cherished market, which welcomed 444,000 visitors last year, generates significant economic impact—raising £60.4 million in turnover and supporting over 500 jobs.

The Keynsham Winter Festival will close out the year on November 29 with Christmas market stalls, local entertainment, and free family-friendly activities along the high street.

Councillor Manda Rigby, cabinet member for communications and community, expressed gratitude for the overwhelming enthusiasm shown throughout the summer and highlighted the varied offerings available this autumn and winter. “From literature lovers to food enthusiasts and festive shoppers, Bath truly has something for everyone. We appreciate our community’s patience and support during busy periods, which helps make these fantastic events possible and enriches the cultural fabric of our city and towns.”
