Bath Teen Threatened Teacher with Deepfake Image and Violence

A 15-year-old boy from Bath appeared in court after threatening to rape a teacher and circulate a manipulated deepfake image intended to cause harm. The boy, who was 14 at the time of the offences and remains unnamed due to legal protections, admitted guilt to three charges at Bath Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, April 23.

Between April 30 and July 11 last year, he made repeated threats that caused a teacher to fear violence, including rape, paralysis, and the release of intimate deepfake images. Additionally, he threatened to share a photograph that appeared to depict the teacher in a compromising state.

In a related incident from July 8 to 11, the teen threatened another teacher, instructing her to keep her windows closed and demonstrating knowledge of her family’s residence. He also issued abusive threats against her and a baby.

The court responded by imposing a 12-month referral order on the boy and ordering him to pay £5,000 in compensation. Magistrates also enforced a restraining order that prohibits him from contacting the two teachers, directly or indirectly, and bans him from entering a specified school for three years.
