Bath Shines in Muddy Stiletto Awards with Best Afternoon Tea and More

Bath has emerged as a standout winner at this year’s Muddy Stiletto Awards, securing five top honors in the Dorset, Somerset, and Bristol region. Celebrated for its vibrant local scene, the city claimed awards for Best Afternoon Tea, Best Bar, Best Beauty Salon, Best Boutique Stay, and Most Loved Local Pub—recognition driven by an impressive half a million public votes nationwide.

Montagu’s Mews at the Royal Crescent Hotel took home the prestigious Best Afternoon Tea award. General Manager Lorraine Jarvie expressed pride in her dedicated pastry team, noting, “We’re lucky to have such skilled pastry chefs who make fresh scones and cakes all day.” She also highlighted the front-of-house staff’s commitment, often serving up to 100 afternoon teas daily, especially during busy summer months. Lorraine invites visitors to experience their seasonal Wimbledon-themed afternoon teas and recommends trying their authentic 18th-century Bath buns, crafted using traditional recipes.

Not far away, The Queensberry Hotel was recognized as Best Boutique Stay. General Manager Oliver Harris shared his delight, stating, “The team’s hard work to deliver an exceptional guest experience has truly paid off.” He pointed out the rarity of boutique hotels today and how The Queensberry’s unique charm sets it apart from larger, more generic accommodations.

Other towns like Frome, Taunton, Castle Cary, Shepton Mallet, Cheddar, and Chard also received nods, reflecting the broad quality of businesses in the area.

The Muddy Stiletto Awards celebrate the diversity and excellence of local enterprises, offering well-deserved recognition to those enhancing the cultural and social fabric of their communities.
