Bath Rugby Soar to New Heights in 62-15 Rout of Saracens

After a two-month hiatus, the Gallagher Premiership returned with a bang as reigning champions Bath Rugby delivered a stunning performance to overpower Saracens 62-15 at the Recreation Ground in Round 11 of the 2025/26 season.

Saracens started strongly, racing ahead to a 10-0 lead thanks to an early try by Tobias Elliott and an Owen Farrell penalty. But Bath quickly responded with tries from Will Muir, Josh Bayliss, and Alfie Barbeary, showcasing their attacking firepower. Although Elliott notched his second try for Saracens, Henry Arundell’s 70-metre interception and a Finn Russell penalty secured a 31-15 lead for Bath at halftime.

The second half saw Saracens control territory but fail to break through Bath’s unyielding defence. Meanwhile, Bath extended their dominance, with Ben Spencer, Kepu Tuipulotu, Arundell, Guy Pepper, and Bernard van der Linde all crossing the try line, culminating in a nine-try demolition.

Bath’s aggressive and dynamic attacking style was evident from the kick-off, despite a shaky opening where Saracens scored within the first minute. Bath’s ability to capitalize on turnovers and relentless pressure proved too much for the visitors. Notably, Arundell’s pace and finishing ability shone throughout, bagging two tries and setting up others.

Saracens struggled with discipline, conceding multiple penalties that allowed Bath to apply pressure and convert key scoring opportunities. Bath’s bench also made a significant impact, with fresh legs turning defense into swift counterattacks, highlighted by a late turnover try from replacement scrum-half Bernard van der Linde.

Johann van Graan’s side showed impressive cohesion and fitness, blending their Six Nations internationals and emerging talent to devastating effect. The result propels Bath Rugby back to the summit of the Gallagher Premiership table, sending a strong message to their title rivals.

With this resounding victory, Bath has re-established themselves as a formidable force, combining solid defense with an explosive attack that promises excitement for the remainder of the season.
