Bath Rugby Secures Rising Star Ciaran Donoghue with Two-Year Contract Extension

Bath Rugby has officially announced the contract extension of versatile back Ciaran Donoghue, securing his talents until the conclusion of the 2027/28 season.

A homegrown talent from the Bath Rugby Academy, Donoghue began his rugby journey at Millfield before making his professional debut against Gloucester Rugby in November 2021. At just 23 years old, he has already amassed 21 appearances for Bath and marked his European debut during the club’s triumphant 2023/24 EPCR Challenge Cup campaign against Pau.

Donoghue’s adaptability across multiple positions earned him a place in the matchday squads for all three finals of Bath’s remarkable treble-winning 2024/25 season. His contributions both on and off the field have made a lasting impact.

Johann van Graan, Bath’s head of rugby, expressed his enthusiasm about Donoghue’s future at the club: “It gives us all great pleasure to know that Ciaran will be with us for the next two seasons. What a 2024/25 season he has had. We all have great memories of what he has done on and off the pitch. Most importantly, his best is yet to come.”

Reflecting on his renewed commitment, Donoghue said, “I’m really excited to continue my journey and development here as a player and person. The support shown at The Rec and around the city is amazing, and from a personal point of view, I can’t wait to get back on the pitch to help the club deliver more success going forward.”

With his new deal signed, Ciaran Donoghue will proudly wear the Bath colours for at least two more seasons, continuing to build on his promising career at his boyhood club.
