Bath Rugby Reveal Extensive Senior Squad for 2026/27 Season

Bath Rugby have officially announced a substantial senior squad comprising 75 players for the upcoming 2026/27 season. Nearly half of this large group are academy players, signalling a blend of experience and emerging talent.

Head of rugby Johann van Graan has introduced minimal changes to the senior lineup during this transfer window. The only new additions are Springbok number eight Dan du Preez from Sale Sharks and Scotland international loosehead prop Jamie Bhatti from Edinburgh Rugby.

Consistency remains a key feature of the squad, with just three players from last season’s 23-man matchday group for the Gallagher Premiership semi-final against Exeter Chiefs departing. Those leaving include Thomas du Toit, Francois van Wyk and Alfie Barbeary.

The Bath squad are set to embark on their traditional pre-season training camp in France next week, where team ambitions and preparations will be finalised ahead of the campaign. Following the camp, Bath will face Perpignan in a pre-season friendly on Thursday, 27 August.

With the transfer window now closed, van Graan appears focused on maintaining his current squad cohesion. The prioritisation this season will likely be the Investec Champions Cup, the sole major trophy that has eluded the club since van Graan’s appointment in 2022.
