Bath Rugby concluded their pre-season preparations with an emphatic 53-5 victory over a youthful Glasgow Warriors team at Old Anniesland. With several internationals returning to the squad, Bath quickly asserted their dominance, leading 22-0 at half-time thanks to tries from Bernard van der Linde, Joe Cokanasiga, and two from Santi Carreras.
Despite numerous substitutions, Bath continued to extend their lead in the second half. Cam Redpath scored twice, Bernard van der Linde secured his second try, and Ollie Lawrence and Claudius Wheeler also crossed the line, while Alex Bryden scored the sole try for Glasgow.
The match was played under challenging weather conditions, but Bath’s strong defence and powerful pack proved too much for Glasgow. The visitors dominated the first half, forcing multiple errors from their hosts. Finn Russell, returning among several senior players, orchestrated Bath’s attacking play, including a clever chip that allowed Carreras to open the scoring.

Bath’s physicality showed early, with Will Stuart turning over a five-metre scrum before quick hands led to Cokanasiga’s try. Max Ojomoh then broke through the defence setting up a try, followed by Barnard van der Linde finishing off a maul from a penalty. Though Glasgow attempted to respond by exploiting the wide channels, they were unable to breach Bath’s resolute defence.
Just before half-time, Russell capitalised on a loose ball, delivering a perfect offload to Carreras for his second try. Bath maintained their momentum after the break, with Ojomoh contributing to the build-up that saw Joe Cokanasiga set up Redpath for a swift score.
Glasgow continued to press, employing tactical kicking, but Bath’s replacements, including Charlie Griffin and Miles Reid, combined effectively to keep the pressure on. Van der Linde and Redpath added further tries following Glasgow errors. Towards the end of the game, new faces Ciaran Donoghue and Austin Emens linked up to set up Lawrence for Bath’s eighth try.
Glasgow did manage a consolation try when Alex Bryden crossed in the corner after Bath failed to clear their lines adequately. Bath wrapped up the game with a powerful team effort, as replacement Claudius Wheeler powered over for the final try, sealing a comprehensive 53-5 victory to end their pre-season on a high note.
