After an incredible journey filled with community spirit and unforgettable memories, the Bath pub Town+House has announced it will be closing its doors at the end of October.
Owners have cited soaring costs, reduced disposable incomes, and a decline in government support as key factors making it nearly impossible for small independent pubs like theirs to survive in today’s challenging hospitality landscape.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, the pub thanked customers for being the “heart and soul” of the establishment. “From day one, you’ve been more than just visitors—you’ve been the reason this place thrived. You lifted our spirits during the toughest times and made every night something special,” the post read.

The announcement reflected on the countless friendships formed, the spontaneous singalongs, and the warm atmosphere that transformed Town+House from a simple venue into a cherished community hub.
To mark the closure, Town+House is hosting a “party to end all parties” on Friday, October 24. The farewell event will feature a DJ, tarot card readings, music bingo, and a chance for everyone to say goodbye to the dedicated staff who made the pub feel like home.
“We want to celebrate everything we’ve built together and end this chapter the way we always lived it—together,” the pub shared, inviting friends old and new to raise a glass in appreciation of a truly remarkable journey.
