Bath City has bolstered its lineup with the signings of seasoned footballers Ollie Chamberlain and Donovan Wilson, bringing valuable experience and versatility to the squad.
Chamberlain, 31, joins from Weston-super-Mare, reuniting with manager Scott Bartlett, under whom he played for over a year. His move was confirmed Sunday after he featured as a trialist during pre-season matches against Cardiff U21 and Plymouth Argyle.
“I was delighted to come back once I heard about Scott’s interest,” Chamberlain shared. “We’ve kept in touch, especially during my injury last year when he sent me good luck messages. I’m ready to contribute wherever needed—I’m versatile and always give 100%.”

Primarily a central midfielder earlier in his career, Chamberlain adapted to wing-back during Taunton’s successful promotion to the National League South, showing his ability to adjust to team needs while continuing to provide goal contributions. Bartlett’s familiarity with Chamberlain’s strengths is a factor in this promising reunion.
Last season was challenging for Chamberlain due to a ruptured Achilles sustained in March 2025 during a 1-0 win over Chelmsford. Despite this, he made substitute appearances in key play-off matches for Weston, demonstrating promising recovery.
“Pre-season has gone well for me, and it was good to get some minutes at the end of last season,” said Chamberlain. “I feel strong now and grateful to Weston and everyone who supported me during my injury. I hope to bring that resilience to Bath City.”
Chamberlain also brings a championship pedigree, having won the Southern Premier South title with Taunton in 2022. He expressed enthusiasm about playing at Bath’s vibrant stadium and highlighted the importance of building fitness and avoiding injuries as the season approaches.
In addition to Chamberlain, Bartlett confirmed the permanent signing of Donovan Wilson from Dagenham & Redbridge. Wilson, 29, previously joined Bath City on loan in February under former manager Darren Way. He impressed with three goals in his final four games, despite the team’s relegation.
Wilson also started pre-season strongly, scoring in a 3-1 victory over Larkhall. With experience in the English Football League as recently as 2025 with Grimsby Town, Bartlett is confident Wilson’s skill and experience will be crucial in the Southern Premier South campaign.
“He’s brilliant,” Bartlett remarked. “Sometimes everything aligns perfectly, and that was the case with Donny. He and I connected quickly after joining last season, and the fans really took to him. He’s an outstanding player, and I’m confident we’ll get a lot from him this season.”
With these signings, Bath City aims to make a strong impact as the new season unfolds.
