Bath City have solidified their squad for the 2026/27 season by securing new contracts with four essential players: Joe Raynes, Scott Wilson, Harvey Wiles-Richards, and Matt Bowman. Alongside recent signing Enzio Boldewijn, the squad now boasts nine confirmed players, setting a strong foundation for the upcoming campaign.
With pre-season training starting soon, manager Scott Bartlett inherits a highly experienced group. The combined appearances of these players total an impressive 1,027, reflecting the depth of talent at his disposal.
Joe Raynes, a local Bathonian, is just six appearances shy of reaching 300 across all competitions, a milestone achieved by only 23 players in the club’s long history. Since making his debut in 2018 against Dartford, his career faced a setback with a serious ankle injury in 2020/21, but he remains a vital figure for the team.

Goalkeeper Harvey Wiles-Richards, Raynes’ cousin, is also approaching a century of appearances, currently just ten matches away. Having returned under Jerry Gill two years ago, Wiles-Richards has kept 28 clean sheets and earned both Supporters’ and Players’ Player of the Year awards in recent seasons, underscoring his value to the squad.
Dan Greenslade, whose Bath City journey began on loan in January 2016, is set for a fifth year at Twerton. He has logged 188 appearances and is remembered for his memorable goals in 2023 against Eastbourne and Taunton.
Striker Scott Wilson, close behind Greenslade in appearances, has had multiple spells with the club since debuting in 2011. Having become City’s all-time leading scorer in the National League South and netting his 50th league goal during a recent victorious match against Chesham United, Wilson’s retention is a significant boost for the Romans.
Luke Russe and Jordan Tillson, both previously under contract for 2026/27, remain with the team despite limited recent playtime due to injuries and managerial transitions. Tillson, who has also served as assistant manager, is notably a fan favorite, having won the club’s Goal of the Season for a stunning strike last year.
Matt Bowman, a Swiss midfielder and University of Bath student, made an impressive step up two divisions last season, contributing four goals in 27 appearances. His continuation at Bath City adds further depth to the midfield.
Will Jenkins Davies, signed on a two-year deal last year, demonstrated early promise before injuries hampered his season. While he is contracted for this term, the club may consider offers for the talented former Plymouth youngster.
The futures of players including Charlie Binns, Jack Batten, Ollie Tomlinson, Owen Windsor, and captain Kieran Parselle are expected to be clarified in the upcoming week.
In addition to player updates, The FA have announced the dates for the 2026/27 FA Cup and Trophy rounds. Bath City will enter the FA Cup at the 1st Qualifying Round on the weekend of Saturday, September 5—marking the earliest FA Cup fixture for the Romans since 1978. In the FA Trophy, they will start in the 3rd Qualifying Round on the weekend of Saturday, September 26, an early entry not seen since 1972.
With a blend of seasoned experience and promising talent, Bath City are poised for an exciting 2026/27 season.
