Bath City Keep Survival Hopes Alive as Weston Eyes Play-Off Spot

Bath City maintained their faint hopes of National League South survival with an impressive 4-2 victory over play-off contenders Chesham United at Twerton Park.

The Romans surged into a commanding three-goal lead inside 22 minutes, sparked by an early strike from Donovan Wilson just 43 seconds in. Joe Raynes played a key role, assisting Wilson’s opener and indirectly causing an own goal from Callum Adebiyi. Scott Wilson then set up his cousin Donovan for Bath’s third before the visitors fought back with two goals before halftime.

Despite both teams being reduced to 10 men in the second half, Bath’s resilience shone through when Scott Wilson calmly converted a penalty after Alfie Young was sent off for a handball. Another red card later for Owen Windsor brought the teams level on numbers, but Bath held firm to secure back-to-back home wins for the first time this season.

Meanwhile, Weston Super Mare sit in eighth place, just outside the play-off spots but with a game in hand. They edged past Enfield with a late goal finished by Sam Avery from a Luke Spokes corner. Weston will look to build momentum with upcoming matches against Horsham, Dagenham & Redbridge, and title chasers Dorking Wanderers.

Both teams showcased determination—Bath fighting to stay in the league, and Weston pushing into the playoffs—as the National League South season heats up.
