Bath City Farm is embracing the spirit of autumn with an exciting schedule of events running from early September through November. Designed for families, gardeners, and nature lovers, the farm’s autumn programme offers a variety of free activities and workshops that celebrate the season and foster community connection.
The autumn festivities kick off on Saturday, September 6, with a posy-making workshop where participants can create beautiful floral arrangements using seasonal blooms and foliage. That day also marks the start of the Saturday Farm Club, a six-week series giving children hands-on experience in farming and local wildlife.
New this year is a youth club beginning on Saturdays September 6 and 13, providing young people a welcoming space to build skills and forge friendships. For professionals in health and social care, a nature-based practice workshop on Monday, September 22, will explore the benefits of outdoor activities in promoting well-being.
In partnership with the Bath Children’s Literature Festival, a family storytelling session combined with an animal tour will be held on Monday, September 28, offering children the chance to meet farm animals up close amidst enchanting stories.
Returning favourites include the much-anticipated Autumn Fayre on Saturday, October 4, featuring apple juicing, welly wanging, live music, and locally sourced food. Entry is free, and no booking is required, encouraging everyone to join in the festivities.
For those interested in poultry care, the introductory chicken keeping course on Saturday, October 18, welcomes beginners and families with children aged 12 and over to learn the basics of looking after chickens.
The autumn programme culminates in a spectacular Bonfire Night on Saturday, November 8. The evening will include a lantern parade, a roaring bonfire, delicious hot food, mulled apple juice, and captivating fire performances, all enjoyed with sweeping views over the city. Admission is free.
Clarita Floyd-Sanchez, events coordinator at Bath City Farm, shared, “Our Autumn Fayre and Bonfire Night are highlights of our seasonal calendar—both free events with no booking needed. They offer a wonderful chance to experience the farm’s vibrant community spirit while supporting our ongoing programmes.”
She added, “From family-friendly clubs to festive celebrations, Bath City Farm remains a welcoming space where people can gather, learn, and connect with nature throughout the seasons.”
