Bath City Appoints Scott Bartlett as New Manager Following Darren Way’s Departure

Bath City Football Club has acted quickly to appoint Scott Bartlett as their new first-team manager after parting ways with Darren Way last Sunday. The Romans, currently battling relegation from the National League South, have turned to Bartlett to steady the ship.

In an official statement on Thursday, Bath City expressed their excitement about the new appointment: “We’re delighted to announce Scott Bartlett as our new first-team Manager. Scott brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles at Weston-super-Mare and Eastleigh, and we’re thrilled to have him on board at Twerton Park.”

Bartlett, who once played for Bath City, reflected on the club’s spirit and his vision: “We are undoubtedly in a tough position, but I am not fazed. What matters most is the potential within the squad, the people, and the ongoing project here. Having experienced firsthand the community support Bath City commands, I’m thrilled to commit my future to the club and excited by what lies ahead.”

Before joining Bath City, Bartlett managed Weston-super-Mare AFC from 2019 until September 2025. During his tenure, he guided Weston to promotion to the National League South by winning the Southern League Premier South title in 2023. He had also served roles at Forest Green Rovers, including Academy Manager and caretaker First-Team Manager.

After leaving Weston, Bartlett took charge of National League side Eastleigh in September 2025. Despite his efforts, Bartlett won only five of his 23 league matches with Eastleigh, leading to his dismissal in February 2026.

Now at Bath City, Bartlett faces the daunting task of steering the club away from relegation. The Romans currently sit 23rd in the table, ten points adrift of safety, with just eight games remaining. However, they do hold two games in hand over their relegation rivals. Their first test under Bartlett’s leadership is an away match against bottom-placed Eastbourne Borough on Saturday.
