Bath is set to come alive on Saturday as the much-anticipated Bath Carnival takes centre stage, filling the city with vibrant colours, lively music, and joyous celebrations. More than 1,000 performers will parade through the heart of Bath, bringing together communities in a spectacular display of creativity and culture.
The colourful procession is scheduled to wind its way through the city centre from 3pm to 5:30pm, beginning at Bath Recreation Ground. Spectators can look forward to drumming bands, energetic dancers, giant puppets, and captivating performances from local schools and community groups.
To facilitate the parade, several city centre roads will be closed between 2pm and 6pm, with clear diversion routes in place to ease traffic flow. Additionally, parking bays along the route will be suspended from 7am to accommodate the event. Key roads affected include Great Pulteney Street, Argyle Street, Pulteney Bridge, Grand Parade, Orange Grove, High Street, Northgate Street, Broad Street, George Street, Milsom Street, and New Bond Street.

Organisers have assured residents and visitors that road closures will be lifted promptly once the procession has passed each section of the route.
As preparations reach their final stages, organisers expressed heartfelt gratitude: “A huge THANK YOU to everyone who’s helped keep the carnival spirit alive this year. Thanks to your support, our 12th annual carnival returns to the streets as a free, inclusive celebration that highlights the incredible diversity of Bath and North East Somerset.”
Beyond the parade, the festivities extend into Sydney Gardens with the all-day Party in the Park. From 10am to 10pm, attendees can enjoy a lively lineup of live bands, DJs, food and drink stalls, as well as puppetry and dance performances — ensuring fun for all ages throughout the day.
Bath Carnival promises to be a joyous celebration of community spirit, culture, and creativity, lighting up the city with unforgettable sights and sounds.
